Capstan Winches

Neumann Equipment manufactures several versions of vertically mounted Capstan Winches that can be powered by either hydraulic or electric motors. These are directly coupled to a reduction hub to reduce the speed and increase the torque.

The capstan winch units can be mounted on the wharf or on the vessel and can be used to haul or pull your vessel toward the dock.

Advantages of a Capstan Winch:

The standard range of capstan winches start from 1.2 tonne through to 10 tonne units. Their line speeds are variable from 0 to 20 metres per minute.

The base is usually mounted by a row of bolts around the outside perimeter, although on occasions these units can be concreted into the foundations.
