Oceanographic Winches
Neumann Equipment is a leading Australian Oceanographic Winch manufacturer. The oceanographic winches are custom made to suit the customer’s requirements in either electric or hydraulic drive, with Archimedes screw type wire feeders.
Oceanographic Winch Options include:
- Distance and tensioning monitoring with data logging;
- Both local and remote control stations;
- The winch drum is grooved to suit the specific rope diameter;
- Compact planetary drive gearbox - Rexroth GFT;
- Rexroth hydraulic motors;
- Archimedes screw wire feeder;
- Automatic drum lock - multiple disc brake;
- The drum is supported with a fully sealed self-aligning outrigger bearing;
- The base and drum are fabricated from grade 250 carbon steel, 316 stainless steel optional;
- Heavy duty marine protective coating on all oceanographic winch units.
The cable enters via a removable bolt in section of the drum core, allowing the end of the cable to pass through a hollow shaft where the rope is terminated to a slip ring, which is then connected to a computer for monitoring the information gathered by the device being towed through the water.
